A CAD Designer with a passion for Mechanical and Electrical Design, you have experience supporting mechanical and electrical concepts, packaging design; or redesign of consoles, racks and Integrated Bridge Systems. Experience in the Naval or Maritime industry is a major plus! You will be expected to deliver 2D/3D drawings and models and support the introduction of the new designs to the OSI manufacturing engineering and production teams and our suppliers. The CAD Designer supports development of mechanical and electrical concepts, packaging design or redesign of OSI consoles, racks and IBS systems. The CAD Designer is expected to deliver accurate 3D models and 2D drawings.
Develop of 3D models and 2D drawings suitable for manufacturing
Interface with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Systems Engineers for design development
Level 1 Check of drawings for accuracy and compliance with OSI practices
Support preparation of procedures and work instructions for product fabrication
Support preparation, development and sustainment of CAD Operation Team standards, work instruction and operational procedures
Create conceptual drawings and renderings for Sales Proposals
Follows workplace operating and environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines.
2 or 3 year college diploma with technical training in 3D modeling drafting
4-7 years experience
Competent with application of Solidworks modeling tools and AutoCAD
Change management tools such as PDXpert
Familiarity with electrical drawings
Working knowledge of ASME Y14 Engineering drawing practices
Design for assembly and manufacturing.
Manufacturing processes for sheet metal, machined and welded parts.
Familiarity with naval platform environment is an asset
Ability to attain and hold NATO security clearance.
