We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to coordinate overall accounting systems to assist in the financial management of the Company. This role will involve a variety of accounting functions for all OSI companies through:

(1) reconciliation of accounts, maintenance of revenue analysis schedule, payroll submission and cash flow schedule;
(2) supervision of accounting and/or accounts payable staff;
(3) performing and supporting receivable functions;
(4) assisting external audit, tax preparation or similar; and,
(5) completion of special accounting projects.

Responsibilities
  • Closes each month end - generates monthly financial statements and provides explanation to variances
  • Prepares and reviews manual and system journal entries, schedules and reports
  • Prepares difficult journal entries and maintains and reconciles complex ledger accounts
  • Establishes, maintains and produces reports and records of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions, interprets these records and reports for managers; and recommends solutions to a wide range of financial problems
  • Establishes and maintains automated accounting and control mechanisms to monitor complex accounts
  • Advises managers and staff on general accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, procedures and discrepancies in reporting and account reconciliation


Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree with courses in Accounting; requires professional accounting designation (at a minimum at final year of acquiring designation)
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in the duties described above
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theory and practices
  • Experience in computerized accounting system environment, knowledge of accounts receivable and payable reporting
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • High level of accuracy, ability to meet deadlines, advanced Excel and computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
