Who You Are:

A seasoned professional Senior Accountant that coordinates overall accounting systems, prepares financial statements and complex reports, verifies accounts and establishes and maintains records to assist in the financial management of the company.  To perform a variety of accounting functions for all OSI companies through (1) maintenance of financial records that includes preparation of financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, maintenance of revenue analysis schedule, submission of payroll, and updating of cash flow schedule; (2) supervision of accounting and/or accounts payable staff; (3) performs/supports receivable functions; (4) assistance to external audit, tax preparation or similar task; and (5) completion of special accounting projects as needed. 

The Job:

  • Responsible for closing each month end. Generates monthly financial statements and provides explanation to variances as appropriate
  • Prepares difficult journal entries and maintains and reconciles complex ledger accounts
  • Establishes, maintains and produces reports and records of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions, interprets these records and reports for managers; and recommends solutions to a wide range of financial problems
  • Advises managers and staff on general accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, procedures and discrepancies in reporting and account reconciliation
  • Establishes and maintains automated accounting and control mechanisms to monitor complex accounts
  • Supports and/or leads the transition to new accounting systems and recommends process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

You Bring:

  • Professional accounting designation (at a minimum at final year of acquiring designation)
  • 5 years+ experience in similar role
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theory and practices
  • Experience in computerized accounting system environment, knowledge of accounts receivable and payable reporting; experience with migration to a new accounting system would be an advantage
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • High level of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Advanced Excel and computer skills
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to pass security clearance*
