Due to the nature of our company, candidates must be eligible to receive & maintain Canadian security clearance

Our offices are conveniently located in Burnaby near Willingdon and Hwy 1, close to transit, bike routes and running trails.  We have free parking, secure bike lock up and showers.

We are looking for an Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of accounting duties for OSI through the reconciliation of accounts; maintenance of financial records and completion of special accounting projects.

Responsibilities
•    Preparing journal entries and maintaining accounting schedules – prepayments, accruals, fixed asset schedules
•    Performing bank reconciliation
•    Being responsible for the entire accounts payable payment cycle
•    Preparing statutory remittances (Can PST, GST/HST, UK VAT, Australian GST)
•    Making occasional deposits to the bank
•    Entering customer invoices and cash receipts into the system
•    Participating in annual inventory physical count
•    Providing assistance to external auditors during annual audit
•    Offering general assistance with entries, schedules and reports as appropriate
•    Updating and reconciling accounting records
•    Performing other tasks as may be required

Knowledge and Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary degree with courses in Accounting; typically requires working towards professional accounting designation.
Experience: 1 – 3 years’ experience in the duties as described in responsibilities.
Skills:  Basic knowledge of general accounting theory and practices, computerized accounting systems, accounts payable and receivable and internal management reporting; strong organization, time management and prioritization skills; high level of accuracy; ability to meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; pleasant phone manner; basic Excel and computer skills; ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
